ISLAMIC LITERATURE

Abu Sa'id al Khudri narrates that Muhammad (saw) said; "A believers thirst for knowledge is never quenched. He continues to hear and learn until he enters paradise"

Just as we find comfort and solace from reading story books, we can find that same peace from diving into Islamic text. Not only that, we also expand our knowledge and flourish into beautiful Muslims and Muslimah.

It is our utmost duty to gain Islamic knowledge as well as Dunya knowledge. We are told, that closer to the end of time, Allah will lift such knowledge from the face of the earth, but there will also be the demise of great great scholars of Islam; and we've already lost so many. When Allah starts taking their soul, who will give us the knowledge of Islam and the Deen?

Which is why, if we keep leaving it up to the Ulama, thinking it's only their duty to learn about Islam, then there will come such a time where we wont, and the generations to come, won't even know the Haqq (truth) from baa'til (falsehood). Allah save us.

Now do we understand why it is SO important for us to reach out and read into our Deen. It is said, those who go out in the path of Allah to seek knowledge, Allah makes the path to Jannah easy for him. Any word, any letter, any page, any pen used to write the words of Allah will be added into your book of good deeds. Take advantage of such easy rewards! WHO has ever rewarded you for reading? for writing? for learning? NO ONE besides Allah, the most merciful, the most compassionate.

Come the day of Judgement, standing in front of Allah, being questioned for why we did/didn't do such and such, we CANNOT use the excuse of not knowing, when we have ALL the books, information and teachers at our finger tips. Rather we'll realise it was our sheer ignorance, selfish desires and laziness. Don't be full of regret when its too late.

Down below, i thought it might be useful to link a local Islamic bookstore where you could purchase any of your Islamic stuff. I prefer going in to the store only because i can have a better look at individual books etc, and sometimes they dont have all their books online. If you want to know anything, give them a ring, or contact them via their Instagram; @islamicestablishment. They're honestly super helpful.

However, i thought it would be a good idea to share my book recommendations, some of which i have, some of which i've studied from and some that i've been recommended by Apa's. If you have any questions, please let me know. Where i have pdf versions, i will try my best to upload them, but remember, the Noor and Barakah from opening kitaabs can't be achieved through online versions. Therefore it is always recommended to purchase books.

P.S never feel like you're wasting your money. NOTHING spent in the path of Allah is wasting. Rather it will be Sadaqah for you.

MA'RIFUL QURAN

Mufti Muhammad shafi + Muhammad Taqi usmani

A really good easy to understand quran tafsir set. Includes the ayaat and the context behind its revelation and meaning. Personally, i have the Tafsir Ibn Kathir set which also very good. Its so so important to study the meaning of the Quran, in order for us to have the love for the words. It's more than just arabic words, its our guide and companion. The Quran is full of life lessons which we need to open our eyes to, in order for us to not commit the same mistake as previous nations, and for us to be saved from Allahs wrath.  You also start to develop the love and understand of what you're praying in salaah when you study the tafsir of the surahs.
